This is Us

Welcome everyone!

My name is Taylor. I’m 24 years old and beyond excited to share my journey! I have a beautiful new baby girl, Mila Rose. Born August 1st, she is the sunshine of my life. I am a stay at home mommy. Her daddy plays professional basketball overseas, so when we aren’t across the ocean with him, it’s just us ladies!  To give a little background, I grew up in a small town by the sea. My parents have been married almost 30 years and are still so in love. I have a younger brother, who happens to be twice as tall as me.  He’s a skateboarder and really great behind the camera.

I graduated college in 2017. The following year, my boyfriend signed with a team in Okinawa Japan, and I went along to support him and his dreams.  It became my second home. The memories we made will last a lifetime, and I hope that someday our daughter will be able to visit and witness all its beauty. I was also lucky enough to meet a lifelong friend who made my time there worth so much more.

After a long season, we spent our summer back home surrounded by family and friends. August came very quickly, which meant we were off to another destination for his second year. Next stop, Bayreuth, Germany. Quite different from Japan, but another wonderful experience.  If you’re ever in Nuremberg around December, make sure to check out the Christmas markets. They are beyond beautiful and definitely put you in the spirit! The guys were given a short break so we took advantage and headed to Paris for a quick little getaway. I had never been before, and one thing I had always dreamt of was a romantic dinner beside the Eiffel Tower.  It was magical and the whole trip felt like a fairytale, but something was off…

Place du Trocadéro – November 27, 2018

I was abnormally tired, nothing tasted good, and my sense of smell became strangely intense. We hadn’t planned for such a blessing to come into our lives at this exact moment, and although it hadn’t been confirmed, I knew in my heart that I was pregnant. I waited until after our trip to buy a test, and to no surprise, those two blue lines showed up almost instantly.  We couldn’t believe it, there was really a baby in my belly! After returning home for the holidays, I stayed in the states for the remainder of my pregnancy.

Summer of 2019, our lives changed forever as our princess entered the world. Her daddy began a new adventure in Montenegro, as we decided it would be best for Mila and me to stay home until she was a little older and we felt more comfortable with her traveling.  Life has changed in so many ways since becoming a mom. I share every waking moment with this little human who looks at me as though nothing else in this entire world matters. The saying is true, “I gave you life, but you really gave me mine.” I am beyond blessed to continue this life with such an angel and I can’t wait to share the good days, bad days and everything in between!
